The  3rd   International  Conference on SEEG and Brain Mapping for  Epilepsy

On behalf of the scientific and organizing committees, we cordially invite you to participate in the 3rd International Conference of SEEG and Brain Mapping for Epilepsy, which will be held in Shanghai China, from 31st Aug (Fri) to 2nd Sep (Sun), 2018. All those who are interested in patient management and brain mapping for epilepsy are especially welcome.

The practice of brain mapping based on SEEG for both epileptogenicity and functional organization was essentially confined to the European centers until the early 2010s. During the past 10 years, however, there has been a great leap in international interest in SEEG, which is the direct incentive for the joint initiative of this conference. This conference is a joint collaboration of the Commission on SEEG and Brain Mapping of China Association Against Epilepsy (CAAE), and the world leading epilepsy centers of Cleveland Clinic in U.S., Ospedale Niguarda Ca’Granda in Milano Italy, Grenoble University Hospital in France, Shizuoka Institute of Epilepsy and Neurological disorders in Japan, and Timone University Hospital in France. We are devoted to representing state of the art advances in SEEG and brain mapping.

The program covers various aspects of SEEG and brain mapping, and eight main themes have been selected, covering adult and pediatric epileptology, epilepsy surgery, laser ablation therapy, neuroimaging, neurophysiology, neuropsychology, basic and translational science. The titles of the eight sessions address the following topics: (1) Reconsiderations on epileptogenic zone and SEEG for epilepsy surgery; (2) Principles of SEEG practice for MRI negative cases and MRI application; (3) Temporo-perisylvian seizures and epilepsy surgery; (4) Emotion, emotional brain and emotional seizures; (5) Seizures from visuomotor system and cortical mapping by intracerebral electrodes; (6) Seizures from language and peri-language areas and cortical mapping by grid electrodes;(7) Seizures from sensorimotor (integration) system and cortical mapping by subdural grid and intracerebral electrodes; and (8) Stereotactic laser interstitial thermal therapy.

Registration Fee

Registration fee is $200/person for international attendees. The registration fee includes conference materials, buffet dinner on August 31st, lunch and dinner on September 1st and September 2nd. Note that accommodation is not included.
